Burlap & Barrel Ground Laurel Bay Leaves
Our ground Laurel Bay Leaf is a pure expression of the savory, herbal flavor of the bay leaf. Sourced from the rocky Mediterranean coastline of Turkey, then dried and ground into a powder, it's a versatile alternative to whole bay leaves. U se 1/8 tsp. in place of a whole bay leaf, and there's no need to remove anything from the pot — the powder is edible when ground. Use in soups, stews, for pan-frying or sautéing, and as a rub for roasted meats and veggies.

It has a tangy, citrusy flavor that makes it a great substitute for lemon, lime, and salt. Our favorite use for sumac is as a table condiment. It can be served in a small decorative bowl with a spoon or pinched with the fingers like flaky sea salt. Sumac works equally well in chicken dishes, meatballs, or roasted meats. It’s excellent in yogurt dishes, on eggs, or hot or chilled roasted vegetables.

Burlap & Barrel Smoked Black Cardamom
Our Smoked Black Cardamom is a complex spice beloved across South and Central Asia. A larger cousin of cardamom, these pods are pink and purple when fresh, and they turn black as they're smoked over an open fire. The flavor is more resinous and bold than that of its softer, sweeter cousins yellow or green cardamom, and it's at its best in dishes that cook for hours, so its flavor can soften and meld with the other spices (it pairs well with citrus). Our Smoked Black Cardamom is ground for easy use. Sprinkle into stews, lentils and sauces for an irresistible smoky, herbal flavor.

Burlap & Barrel Two Elders Creole Seasoning
Developed in collaboration with Honeysuckle Provisions , Two Elders Creole Seasoning reflects the layered history of Creole cooking. Born from the blending of cultures, these flavors trace back to New Orleans kitchens, where pepper-forward spice blends form the backbone of countless dishes. This seasoning draws inspiration from classic Creole flavor bases, designed to work alongside the holy trinity of celery, bell pepper and onion. Savory, aromatic and deeply grounding, it’s built to create structure and depth.
Burlap & Barrel Pomegranate Molasses
Our Pomegranate Molasses is a sweet & tart reduction of fresh pomegranate seeds, with nothing added! It's the silky, full-bodied, pure flavor of pomegranate, and it's a delight in dressings, marinades, drinks, desserts and drizzles. To make this luscious liquid, pomegranate seeds are pressed and their juice is gradually concentrated in a low-temperature vacuum. This prevents natural fruit sugars from caramelizing, a slow and steady process that preserves the vibrantly fresh fruit flavors and optimizes nutritional value.

Burlap & Barrel Cloud Forest Cardamom Seeds
Our Cloud Forest Cardamom is sweet and tart, reminiscent of summer fruits, fresh herbs and cut grass. It comes straight from a single-estate regenerative farm in the high-altitude cloud forests of Guatemala. The fruit turns yellow as it ripens on the vine and has a softer and sweeter flavor that makes it a perfect upgrade to standard green cardamom. The fragrant, crunchy seeds have been removed from the pods, and they’re ready to dot pastries and jams and add depth to your favorite chicken recipe and give your coffee a Middle Eastern twist. Looking for whole cardamom pods? We've got 'em here.
Burlap & Barrel Za’atar

Our Za’atar comes from Nablus, Palestine where this fragrant, nutty blend has been a cornerstone of daily cooking for generations. Produced by a family-run company that partners with small farmers across the region, it reflects both tradition and place.
Burlap & Barrel Smoked Star Anise
Our Smoked Star Anise is picked by hand in the mountains near the border between Vietnam and China. The cold, cloudy weather during the winter harvest means the star anise fruits need to be dried on racks near a wood fire, and they pick up a beautiful hint of smokiness. Add petals to stocks, braised meats, rice, teas and cocktails, or grind them up for desserts and baked goods. Hint hint: Chew on a petal before cooking with it so you can experience the whole range of flavors. It's a wild ride!

Enjoy its freshly roasted flavor in aiolis, dips and salsas, or pair with rich recipes like mac & cheese. Fold into breakfast burritos and burger patties, or sprinkle as a finishing touch on nachos and popcorn. It's also excellent in scrambled eggs!

Add a botanical burst to your favorite martini, or make a refreshing, citrusy cocktail, with or without alcohol. This extract is a slow-crafted custom blend made in collaboration with Bittercube.
