Case for Making Pewter Lake

A lake pigment that is smooth, semi-transparent and lightfast. It's made from a manufactured French mineral pigment fixed to a natural calcium carbonate base, which lands a soft and velvety matte finish when dry. All of our watercolors are handmade in our shop using the highest quality earth and synthetic pigments, plus natural watercolor binding medium made from gum arabic (sap from acacia trees), honey, glycerine, distilled water, and a dash of clove oil for freshness! Half Pans measure approximately 3/4" x 1/2" x 3/8" and contain ~2ml of paint.

Saturday, July 25, 11:00am - 12:30pm PT. This is an online workshop held via Zoom. I have been obsessed with dolphins since childhood. Their curious, playful natures are fascinating, and their graceful movements are full of joy. Observing them swimming in the San Francisco Bay inspired me to loosen my approach to painting and respond more intuitively to the natural world. In this workshop we’ll explore foundational watercolor techniques such as wet-into-wet, layering, and more, with an emphasis on using minimal, fluid brushstrokes to paint these streamlined creatures.
