Rebecca Atwood Designs Small Daisy Fabric in Navy/Green

Bursts of nature always bring happiness. Small daisies seem to be very resilient flowers that thrive in surprising places. Rebecca often notices them popping out of a crack in the sidewalk or a field by the side of the road. They’re common and unassuming, but cheery. We loved the idea of something small scale that would read texturally from across a room, but offer the same unexpected joy of spotting daisies when viewed up close. Use this pattern somewhere you need a spot of joy.

Rebecca painted the original artwork while working on a series of ideas for florals and drew inspiration for this iteration from the pop of color wildflowers bring to a grassy field and the charm of city flowers that manage to bloom through a crack in the concrete.

Use this fabric indoors or out. A small vintage fabric cutting Rebecca found in Tokyo, Japan inspired this fabric. It was a small-scale print that read geometric, but also like a floral. She loved this idea for a textural woven and redrew the motif, adding the softness of her hand and increasing the size so that it would translate well as a woven. She thought a lot about the landscape textures and how we need these textures in our home to create the environment that feels best to us. Use this fabric to cover a sofa in a field of flowers, but viewed at a distance for a soft and easy vibe.

Rebecca pushed her brush onto the paper repetitively in different colors to create this field of blooms. After creating the original artwork, she enlarged the scale to add playfulness. This pattern was created from an original painting from Rebecca’s sketchbook, which like many of her designs, began as a mark-making exercise.
