A simple plaid, this design started as a meditative practice to begin a painting session. Rebecca used India Ink, overlaying the same wash of ink to create a basket-like weave. The subtle darkening that occurs when one long stripe crosses over the next was pleasing to watch. Printed at a slightly larger scale than our Bramble woven fabric, it has a nice texture and a subtle sheen, almost like raw silk. BLUE RIPPLE reads like a cool, glistening body of water; up close you see it’s composed of an array of blues, from navy to teal to cloud blue, with hints of green.

Use this fabric indoors or out. A briar is a prickly shrub and often the word brings to mind wild roses. Rebecca loves that these plants are tough, but also beautiful. They grow along the beach near her childhood home and have survived hurricanes and nor’easters to bloom the next year.
