This loose, painterly plaid started as a holiday card that Rebecca drew in watercolor pencil. She loved how the hazy effect of the pencil created a multicolor stripe that’s bright but livable and versatile. After using the fabric in her own home, she decided to print a wallpaper too. We used our non-woven fibre paper, but it almost has the feeling of grasscloth because it reads texturally.

This unfurling botanical pattern has an air of formality that owes not just to its classical motif but also to its very special texture. Made using a heritage French weaving technique called Liser é , this fabric uses our artisan-dyed warp yarn for the ground and a combination of two mercerized cotton yarns and a slub rayon yarn for the raised vine design. Thickets of berry bushes inspired the name for this indoor upholstery-weight fabric. Woven from a soft, nubby cotton-wool blend, each of the colors contains all the pigments Rebecca would use if she were mixing it with her paints. Neutral green CAMELLIA LEAF is inspired by the flowers in Rebecca’s yard and all over Charleston, with their creamy pink petals, dark foliage, and yellow-green buds—even a hint of blue sky.
