At the beginning of spring, Rebecca walked to the Brooklyn Bridge Park and laid on a blanket, thrilled that warmer weather and greenery were starting to return to New York. She was looking through the grass and found a four-leaf clover, and then more! It served as a reminder to look for the good: the silver linings, the happy moments. There are times where you need happy, playful reminders in your home. Rebecca referenced Josef Frank, an iconic designer, and his clover pattern.

Bursts of nature always bring happiness. Small daisies seem to be very resilient flowers that thrive in surprising places. A simple plaid, this design started as a meditative practice to begin a painting session. Rebecca used India Ink, overlaying the same wash of ink to create a basket-like weave. The subtle darkening that occurs when one long stripe crosses over the next was pleasing to watch. Reminiscent of fencing, it calls to mind the different structures we use to tame nature within a garden. The repetition and structure they provide feel settling.
