Like most, this pattern began in Rebecca’s sketchbook. She was playing around with a new small brush and admiring the line quality. She started painting arched shapes that were reminiscent of clouds, which she then explored as a larger painting. This loose, painterly plaid started as a holiday card that Rebecca drew in watercolor pencil. She loved how the hazy effect of the pencil created a multicolor stripe that’s bright but livable and versatile. After using the fabric in her own home, she decided to print a wallpaper too. We used our non-woven fibre paper, but it almost has the feeling of grasscloth because it reads texturally.
