Rebecca Atwood Designs Curling Vines Pillow in Blush/Brown

This unfurling botanical pattern has an air of formality that owes not just to its classical motif but also to its very special texture. Made using a heritage French weaving technique called Liser é , this fabric uses our artisan-dyed warp yarn for the ground and a combination of two mercerized cotton yarns and a slub rayon yarn for the raised vine design. A small vintage fabric cutting Rebecca found in Tokyo, Japan inspired this fabric. It was a small-scale print that read geometric, but also like a floral. She loved this idea for a textural woven and redrew the motif, adding the softness of her hand and increasing the size so that it would translate well as a woven. She thought a lot about the landscape textures and how we need these textures in our home to create the environment that feels best to us. Use this fabric to cover a sofa in a field of flowers, but viewed at a distance for a soft and easy vibe.

A new, smaller take on our signature Hills pattern, which originated as a potato print. Screen printed on linen, the rounded shapes are graphic yet harmonious. Use this fabric indoors or out. A briar is a prickly shrub and often the word brings to mind wild roses. Rebecca loves that these plants are tough, but also beautiful. They grow along the beach near her childhood home and have survived hurricanes and nor’easters to bloom the next year. This pattern was created from an original painting from Rebecca’s sketchbook, which like many of her designs, began as a mark-making exercise. Creating a motif from small dashes and dots is a simple practice that can start on the corner of a notebook during a meeting or a warm-up practice for a painting session. While mark-making is often an exercise Rebecca uses to center herself in the present moment, the results often become the seed of a new design. The radiating lines of this deconstructed floral shape feel celebratory and are sure to bring joy to any space.
