This pattern started as a color experiment in Rebecca’s sketchbook as she played with layering blocks of color next to one another in tonal shades (or in the case of the multi-colored one – the occasional pop). Thickets of berry bushes inspired the name for this grasscloth wallcovering. Printed at a slightly larger scale than our Bramble woven fabric, it has a nice texture and a subtle sheen, almost like raw silk. BLUE RIPPLE reads like a cool, glistening body of water; up close you see it’s composed of an array of blues, from navy to teal to cloud blue, with hints of green.

This fabric is intended for indoor use. For our first “solid” fabric, Rebecca wanted something that would be durable and a great basic, but that also made it easier to layer within a color palette—or even build one from. We rarely see flat colors in big swaths in nature. Our natural world is so complex. We see a field of grass, but it’s full of tonal variation and movement. She wanted to explore this concept in an upholstery fabric as if you covered your sofa in a natural landscape. This fabric is available as a pillow here .

Made using a heritage French weaving technique called Liser é , this fabric uses our artisan-dyed warp yarn for the ground and a combination of two mercerized cotton yarns and a slub rayon yarn for the raised vine design.
