Case for Making Slate Green

A natural earth pigment that is lightfast and transparent with a fair amount of texture. Slate green is a natural stone chalk that has been ground down into a fine powder which we've found to have a lovely grittiness to it. All of our watercolors are handmade in our shop using the highest quality earth and synthetic pigments, plus natural watercolor binding medium made from gum arabic (sap from acacia trees), honey, glycerine, distilled water, and a dash of clove oil for freshness! Half Pans contain around 2ml of paint and are approximately 3/4" x 1/2" x 3/8" deep.

It’s made by fixing a manufactured French mineral pigment to a natural calcium carbonate base, which gives it a soft, velvety matte finish when dry. Our ultimate blended brown! Cocoa is a careful mix of 6 (!!) of our core collection colors—the most out of all our blends, with Lime and Ruby in close second. Compared to Burnt Umber Dark and Reddish—both beautiful, single origin earth pigments that lend texture and transparency—Cocoa is a smooth, opaque alternative with a lovely ultra-matte finish. The cool thing about Cocoa is that the colors used to make this blend include two different reds, two yellows, and two blues!
