This charming pattern tells a story in its squares. Composed of two overlapping brush strokes, each block has a unique texture and dimension that make it look almost like a mini watercolor landscape. Our painterly take on a classic checkerboard motif, it’s meant to be layered with other patterns. It’s simple enough to serve as a tonal base layer, and striking enough to make a statement on its own.

T his design began with a marbled paper Rebecca created using India ink in the suminagashi technique. She then elongated the marble into a stripe on the computer, to reference the rippled sand patterns on the shore at low tide.

Based on an original watercolor painting by Rebecca, this grid with moon shapes mixed in has a lovely balance of structure and fluidity. It’s a bit playful but still buttoned up. Our smooth clay-coated wallpaper retains the character of the original watercolor and ink. We designed it at a mid-size scale—not too tiny or too big—so it’s ideal for intimate applications such as in an entryway or powder room. Also available as a textile.

A simple plaid, this design started as a meditative practice to begin a painting session. Rebecca used India Ink, overlaying the same wash of ink to create a basket-like weave. The subtle darkening that occurs when one long stripe crosses over the next was pleasing to watch. Reminiscent of fencing, it calls to mind the different structures we use to tame nature within a garden. The repetition and structure they provide feel settling. This unfurling botanical pattern has an air of formality that owes not just to its classical motif but also to its very special texture. Made using a heritage French weaving technique called Liser é , this fabric uses our artisan-dyed warp yarn for the ground and a combination of two mercerized cotton yarns and a slub rayon yarn for the raised vine design. The result is a fabric that looks embroidered but in fact comes off the loom with an intricate allover pattern. This fabric is available as a pillow here .

A small vintage fabric cutting Rebecca found in Tokyo, Japan inspired this fabric. It was a small-scale print that read geometric but also like a floral. She loved this idea for a textural woven and redrew the motif, adding the softness of her hand and increasing the size so that it would translate well as a woven. She thought a lot about landscape textures and how we need these textures in our homes to create the environment that feels best to us. Use this fabric to cover a sofa in a field of flowers, but viewed at a distance for a soft and easy vibe.

This pattern was created from an original painting from Rebecca’s sketchbook, which like many of her designs, began as a mark-making exercise. Creating a motif from small dashes and dots is a simple practice that can start on the corner of a notebook during a meeting or a warm-up practice for a painting session. While mark-making is often an exercise Rebecca uses to center herself in the present moment, the results often become the seed of a new design. The radiating lines of this deconstructed floral shape feel celebratory and are sure to bring joy to any space.
