Use this fabric indoors or out. Based on an original watercolor painting by Rebecca, this grid with moon shapes mixed in has a lovely balance of structure and fluidity. Thickets of berry bushes inspired the name for this indoor upholstery-weight fabric. Woven from a soft, nubby cotton-wool blend, each of the colors contains all the pigments Rebecca would use if she were mixing it with her paints. This pattern was inspired by a picture Rebecca snapped of long grass while visiting Portland, Oregon. Travel heightens awareness of your surroundings and invites discovery. Rebecca remembers these long grasses leaning against one another, layering to create a rich texture. She started making a large painting and watched how the shapes connected and overlapped, and how the color could intertwine to create atmosphere. Alder repeats an abstract dripping pattern that reminded Rebecca of the catkins of an alder tree. The single-color print allows the linen ground (ivory or oatmeal, depending on the color) to show through, adding to its textured appearance—almost like a pair of Japanese selvedge jeans. In CLEAR SKY, hints of the ivory linen show through giving it dimension, like a cloud itself. It’s a natural layering partner for our many patterns in midtone blues. A small vintage fabric cutting Rebecca found in Tokyo, Japan inspired this fabric. It was a small-scale print that read geometric but also like a floral. She loved this idea for a textural woven and redrew the motif, adding the softness of her hand and increasing the size so that it would translate well as a woven. She thought a lot about landscape textures and how we need these textures in our homes to create the environment that feels best to us. Use this fabric to cover a sofa in a field of flowers, but viewed at a distance for a soft and easy vibe.

Like most, this pattern began in Rebecca’s sketchbook. She was playing around with a new small brush and admiring the line quality. She started painting arched shapes that were reminiscent of clouds, which she then explored as a larger painting. We love that patterns can become the backdrop to our lives and help us create an environment. Inspired by the sky, this textural pattern will add atmosphere to a room. Designed to coordinate with our Bubbles mural to continue the pattern onto a ceiling, this subtle print looks equally lovely on its own.
