This pattern was inspired by a picture Rebecca snapped of long grass while visiting Portland, Oregon. Travel heightens awareness of your surroundings and invites discovery. Rebecca remembers these long grasses leaning against one another, layering to create a rich texture. She started making a large painting and watched how the shapes connected and overlapped, and how the color could intertwine to create atmosphere. This pattern adds vertical movement and depth to a space. This wallpaper is a part of our Archive Collection.

Rebecca wanted to design something soft and textural as if she had just slowly moved her brush up and down in small repetitive marks along a wall or across a piece of fabric—which is in fact how she painted this pattern but on a piece of paper. The soft texture created by a brush with only a bit of paint left on it creates a cozy soothing feeling, almost like white noise. Use this pattern like you would a grasscloth or texture. It’s soft and easy to mix with other patterns.
