Here in the Outer Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco, we spend a lot of time looking towards the ocean. Our street climbs up from the beach in a gentle rise over a few blocks, so we just have to step out from the shop and our favorite view of the horizon is always there at the bottom of the hill. CfM Horizon harnesses the soft blue/green with a touch of grey that feels so familiar to us out here in the foggy coastal zone near the Bay– a little bit of home in color! This color contains fluorescent pigment, which is not lightfast.

Here in our production room, our south-facing window shows us colorful houses by day, and glorious skies over a sliver of shining ocean at sunset. Our team put together this set after shipping by the window all afternoon, on an especially pink and glowy evening. It’s an homage to the place where the bright and pastel hues of the landscape and the light meet to inspire us—our beloved San Francisco neighborhood, reflected in eight special blends! Case for Making CfM Climate Change is Real
Our response to September 9th, 2020, when smoke and ash from a devastating fire season hovered above the Bay Area marine layer, blocking out the daylight. Custom blended from four of our core pigments, Climate Change is Real represents the color of the sky the day the sun didn't rise. All of our watercolors are handmade in our shop using the highest quality earth and synthetic pigments, plus natural watercolor binding medium made from gum arabic (sap from acacia trees), honey, glycerine, distilled water, and a dash of clove oil for freshness!
