Our cozy shop is perched just a few blocks uphill from the Pacific Ocean, and we’re so lucky to have a magical seascape on view just outside our door. It may be a blazing blue or (more often) foggy horizon we see, but the colors are always breathtaking. This wonderful palette shares our favorite hues from our coastal home, including our own CfM Poppy, Pacific, and Cypress! For this cool, soothing green, we were inspired by our neighbor, the Pacific Ocean! Ah, summer swims, and those perfect green-blue waters off the coast of Big Sur. All of our watercolors are handmade in our shop using the highest quality earth and synthetic pigments, plus natural watercolor binding medium made from gum arabic (sap from acacia trees), honey, glycerine, distilled water, and a dash of clove oil for freshness! Half Pans measure ~3/4" x 1/2" x 3/8" and contain ~2ml of paint.

Our ultimate blended brown! Cocoa is a careful mix of 6 (!!) of our core collection colors—the most out of all our blends, with Lime and Ruby in close second. Compared to Burnt Umber Dark and Reddish—both beautiful, single origin earth pigments that lend texture and transparency—Cocoa is a smooth, opaque alternative with a lovely ultra-matte finish. The cool thing about Cocoa is that the colors used to make this blend include two different reds, two yellows, and two blues! The fact that mixing the three primaries together creates an unlimited amount of neutrals never ceases to amaze us!
