This pattern began as a large painting. Rebecca experimented with a resist technique and dotted each larger circle with smaller marks. The resulting motifs referenced radial patterns found in the natural world, from flowers to sand dollars, as well as the passage of time. With several individual colors to match within it, this multi-colored design works well as the start of a scheme or as a bridge to tie colors in your existing scheme together. Rebecca has been reflecting on the concepts of fields and hills. Looking out at the horizon, a landscape, or a panoramic view can be comforting. Round shapes are playful and evoke happiness, which is a feeling she always wants at home. She wanted to create something with round shapes, while also referencing the textures of grass, and the result was this pattern. It has movement to it and is airy and textural. Thickets of berry bushes inspired the name for this indoor upholstery-weight fabric. Woven from a soft, nubby cotton-wool blend, each of the colors contains all the pigments Rebecca would use if she were mixing it with her paints.
