The color combinations you can create from the Loft palette are practically endless: choose a light, a medium or bright, and a dark value and you’re off to the races. “I am often seduced by the simplicity of garter stitch and ribbing – which was the case when I began designing this shawl. After establishing the textured beginning, I used beaded welts to create a subtle horizontal pattern that would divide the lace section from the garter rib. After swatching the lace pattern, however, it seemed more fitting to alternate the lace and welt motifs over the second half of the shawl, which created a simple, rhythmic knit with satisfying textures.
