Bursts of nature always bring happiness. Small daisies seem to be very resilient flowers that thrive in surprising places. Rebecca often notices them popping out of a crack in the sidewalk or a field by the side of the road. They’re common and unassuming, but cheery. We loved the idea of something small scale that would read texturally from across a room, but offer the same unexpected joy of spotting daisies when viewed up close. Use this fabric indoors or out. This design began as a larger painting on paper, playing with the shape of a simple flower. Rebecca pushed her brush onto the paper repetitively in different colors to create this field of blooms. After creating the original artwork, she enlarged the scale to add playfulness. For a more abstract layout, use this pattern on smaller pieces, like a pillow, or embrace the garden experience and use it on patio furniture or a kitchen banquette. Use this fabric indoors or out. A small vintage fabric cutting Rebecca found in Tokyo, Japan inspired this fabric. It was a small-scale print that read geometric, but also like a floral. She loved this idea for a textural woven and redrew the motif, adding the softness of her hand and increasing the size so that it would translate well as a woven. She thought a lot about the landscape textures and how we need these textures in our home to create the environment that feels best to us. Use this fabric to cover a sofa in a field of flowers, but viewed at a distance for a soft and easy vibe.

The subtle darkening that occurs when one long stripe crosses over the next was pleasing to watch. Reminiscent of fencing, it calls to mind the different structures we use to tame nature within a garden. The repetition and structure they provide feel settling.
