We have tweaked, revised, and re-tweaked the design of our platters almost incessantly over the past few years, and, after getting feedback from dozens of chefs, we landed on this oval shape. When we first talked with frequent collaborator Brad Leone about spoon rests, we were thrilled to discover that he has a pretty strong opinion about them: He likes 'em tall. His reasoning? It's a sturdier way to keep your spoon clean and in-place when you're not mid-stir. He makes a compelling argument for it! Our Utensil Crocks come in three sizes (small, medium, and large) and two clay bodies (Dark Brown and Toasted). Each Crock is hand-thrown and dipped in glaze. If you’re debating which size to get, think of it this way: Small’s great for tossing in a few wooden spoons; Medium is fantastic for the spoons plus a few more heavy hitters (think: a whisk, a spatula, and tongs); Large is your best best if you want all of your tools out of drawers.
