Originally developed for the NoMad Hotel in Los Angeles, we decided to make this sort-of bowl, sort-of plate available to home cooks because its flat surface and shallow sides make it perfect for mezze. Imagine one holding hummus topped with sautéed mushrooms, another with labneh and fresh herbs, and another with triangles of toasted pita bread for dipping. Our coffee mug is meticulously designed to be a daily staple. The comfortably angled handle makes it easy to hold in one hand. At 4” tall and holding 10 ounces of liquid, it stands sturdily on your breakfast table, workbench, or armchair. We let the clay slip sit in our plaster molds for a few extra minutes, resulting in a slightly thicker wall than our coffee and espresso cups. It helps our mug retain heat for longer, making it perfect for slow sipping. This is the first time we’ve made these classic mugs in a color glaze.
