Stephanie M's, Duchess is a cuff-down sock worked in Starling. The snowy owl motif that circles the leg was inspired by a snowy owl who used Washington, D.C.'s Union Station as her nightly hunting ground. Stephanie fondly remembers grabbing her binoculars to watch her in action. An unexpected sight in the heart of the city, the owl became the starting point for this design. Worked with a single colorwork chart, a classic heel flap and gusset, and a three-needle bind off at the toe. Pair Duchess with Stephanie's Field Mark fingerless gloves for all your birding adventures.

Stephanie M field mark
Field Mark is a pair of fingerless mitts designed by Stephanie M., knit in Starling. A field mark is a distinctive feature used to identify a bird, while binoculars help to see those details. A band of colorwork binoculars wraps the hand, paying tribute to the tool that brings birds, landscapes, and fleeting moments into focus. Worked with a ribbed cuff, thumb gusset, and a single colorwork chart, the open hand allows for easy handling of binoculars (or your WIP) while exploring outdoors. Pair these with Stephanie's snowy owl Duchess socks for all your birding adventures.

Stephanie M tiny ravens socks
Designed by Stephanie M, we’re delighted to present her Tiny Ravens Socks where a chorus of little ravens flutters around the cuff. Knit cuff-down in Starling, these socks pair joyful detail with clever technique. Below the ravens, jog-less helical stripes spiral smoothly down the leg and foot, a smart method for creating continuous stripes without the telltale step at each color change. A classic heel flap and gusset lend a traditional fit, and a three-needle bind-off neatly closes the toe. Worked in contrasting shades of Rose and Raven, we didn’t know how much we loved tiny ravens—until now!

Mari Lynn Patrick city
A trip to an iconic Fifth Ave, New York menswear shop brought about an idea for a classic rib beanie worked in luxurious, semi-bulky, yet lightweight Osprey yarn. Adding one (or two) stitches in the wide rib all around can change the style back to a man's hat (where you borrowed it from his shelf in the first place).

Quince & Co. dust jacket kit
The history of the dust jacket can be traced back to the mid-19th century as a means to shield books from dust and wear. As the 19th century progressed, publishers began to recognize the potential of the outer book cover as a promotional tool. For two more centuries, the dust jacket would continue to evolve and remains one of the most collectible assets of a book. The Dust Jacket Kit pays homage to its humble beginnings. The jacket body is worked in our sweet Chickadee using the linen stitch. The piece can be customized to fit your most treasured literary masterpiece.

Hanna Maciejewska parti
Hanna’s asymmetrical Parti shawl is our new favorite for chilly fall mornings. Knitted in soft and tweedy Wren , Parti is worked sideways, beginning at one tip and increasing to the wide left edge, culminating in a luxurious swath of bobbles and lace. We love the way Parti's lace panel adds just the right amount of light and airiness to this cozy, textured shawl. This pattern is also part of the 11 piece collection, Atelier .

Stone Wool dunedin
Few stitch patterns provide as much satisfaction as simple knit-and-purl combinations, especially when worked in a plump, round yarn like Stone Wool Corriedale. The contrast between purl bumps and flat Vs stands out nicely. This pullover started out as a kind of sampler, with same-size bands of the different stitch patterns, but it ended up using an elongated check pattern for the entire body and a smaller broken rib pattern in the yoke. One never knows where an idea will lead. If you love knit-and-purl patterns as much as I do, feel free to substitute your favorites for the ones in Dunedin.
