Growers in the Orgánica cooperative have focused on achieving the highest quality in every aspect of their production, including planting higher-quality, harder-to-grow varieties. We’ve been partners since 2018, their first season of production, noting and encouraging improvements over time. For the second year in a row, we are thrilled to offer Makali as a subscriber-exclusive product. Forty-five women in the Makali community produced this coffee. Women in eastern Africa do much of the work to produce coffee, but are not often encouraged to participate in its trade.
