Our exclusive Japanese washi paper shades are handcrafted for us by a 90-year-old chōchin lantern atelier in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan—a region renowned for its paper heritage. Made from thick, premium washi in a warm cream tone, each shade embodies the depth and elegance of Japanese artistry. Each Sumi shade is made from sheets of washi that have been hand-painted with traditional sumi black ink and white pigment in an abstract pattern.

Made with authentic creamy colored washi paper, it emits a soft, soothing glow that brings warmth and harmony to any space.

The authentic Japanese uchiwa fans featured in our Washi Fan Sconce are crafted by a renowned Kyoto fan atelier with over 300 years of tradition. Representing the pinnacle of Kyoto craftsmanship, each fan is entirely handmade—from shaping the aged Tanba bamboo ribs to precisely cutting and applying the washi paper. The sun-bleached washi paper is produced by master artisans, while the sculpted smooth handle is crafted from locally sourced Tsuga hemlock.
