Redhook is worked in one piece, back-and-forth in rows, from the bottom-up on circular needles. The deep shawl collar and ribbed cap-sleeves are shaped using short rows and are picked up and worked directly from the body of the vest. The long, tunic-like shape makes a great garment for fall layering and is a perfect medium-sized project for those yarns in your stash that are just short of a full-sweater’s-worth. Redhook is at once both chic and comforting — two wonderful attributes for any garment! Designer: Jared Flood Collection…

Brooklyn Tweed Alberta
This vest is worked completely in the round from bottom up and shaped using steeks. After the completion of the body, armholes and neck steeks are cut, then stitches are picked up around each opening and trimmed with 1×1 ribbing using Trim Color. The sample shown was knit using a self-striping handspun yarn, and a solid wool tweed – experimentation is encouraged when choosing stripe and trim colors! Designer: Jared Flood Collection…

Brooklyn Tweed Barrington
This colorwork vest features an allover honeycomb pattern with bold vertical motifs placed at center front/back and sides; the low U-neck and hourglass shaping update this classic wardrobe staple. The vest is worked in the round and utilizes steeks at the armhole and neck openings. Upon completion of knitting, the steeks are cut; stitches are then picked up to work the bands. The ribbed trim (at armhole/neck opening and hem) is worked at a significantly denser gauge to create a firmer fabric and help maintain the shape of these areas. Brooklyn Tweed Huxley
I’m always charmed by the simple Norwegian “Lice” Pattern that adorns this vest – it’s both classic and sweet. This garment is worked in the round from bottom to top and, in the spirit of tradition, utilizes steeks (cutting) to open up the armholes and neck. Huxley knits up quickly and makes a great layering piece to add warmth and interest to your fall wardrobe. Designer: Jared Flood Collection: Fall…

Brooklyn Tweed Stilwell
Stilwell is a fitted pullover with three-quarter-length sleeves and traditional colorwork motifs adorning yoke and cuffs. The placket neck has two button closures and a slightly raised collar. The garment is worked seamlessly in-the-round with raglan yoke shaping. To keep your tension consistent throughout the garment, I recommend switching to needles 2 to 3 sizes larger for working colorwork sections. Proper swatching will reveal what needle sizes gives you the correct gauge of 4.75 stitches per inch. Designer: Jared Flood Collection…

Brooklyn Tweed Hunter
Crisp, gansey-inspired texture animates the fabric of this handsome V-neck vest in Arbor. An all-over welted rib motif yields to rope cables and chevrons on the upper torso; wide purl gutters delineate the sides. The work begins in the round, then divides at the armholes for flat knitting to the shoulders. Single-rib tubular edge treatments, worked circularly after shoulder seaming, make a polished and professional finish. The pattern is written with slightly tapered or straight options for body shaping. Designer: Jared Flood Collection: Fall…

Brooklyn Tweed Sauvie
A simple vest in Loft adds a light layer of warmth and texture to your fall wardrobe. Worked in moss stitch with delicate welt details at the edges and shoulders, Sauvie features a shallow V-neck and a slightly cropped high-hip length, perfect for pulling over buttondowns. The vest is worked flat from the bottom up with increases to create a gentle angle that results in a small wing of “sleeve” fabric flaring from the shoulder for an interesting silhouette. We knit Sauvie in a versatile pale neutral (Fossil), but it’s equally handsome in a dark shade like Artifact or Pumpernickel.

Distinctive side and shoulder details make this reverse stockinette pullover fly true. Narrow columns of crossed stitches travel up the sides and beneath the sleeves to flow into the raglan lines at the yoke, with tendrils of crossed stitches joining the confluence to form a striking pattern. Fletching is worked in Shelter from the single-ribbed hem and cuffs upward, entirely in the round and from written instructions only. Brooklyn Tweed Birch Bay
Delicate cables form decorative oak leaf medallions to paper the extra-wide fabric of this poncho-like pullover. On a ground of reverse stockinette, the cable motifs stand in relief like woodblock carvings. Side vents and exaggerated drop shoulders give this garment easy style, while a loose turtleneck provides a double layer of warmth around your neck. Birch Bay’s front and back are knit flat and sewn together; stitches for the double-ribbed sleeves and neck are picked up and worked in the round. Tubular hems and chain selvedges ensure a tidy finish everywhere.

Brooklyn Tweed Riptide
A plush brioche cowl finishes the distinctive eight-point cabled yoke of this snuggly pullover. Gentle A-line shaping makes Riptide comfortable and cozy. The knitting is seamless, with the body and sleeves worked in the round from the single-ribbed hem and cuffs upward and then united for the circular yoke. Cleverly placed brioche helps to lower the front neck without the use of short rows and smoothly transitions to a cowl knit from the live stitches. Knit in chunky-weight Quarry, this sweater will fly off the needles.

Brooklyn Tweed Spinnaker
Dress up or down in a classic V-neck pullover distinguished by lush textures. Designed to fit with several inches of ease, Spinnaker layers comfortably over work wear or casual tees. Forking cables embedded in a field of cluster stitches on reverse stockinette keep the knitting engaging, but the motifs are easy to read and memorize. Though the body is worked straight to the armholes, the cables create flattering lines and give the suggestion of waist shaping.

Brooklyn Tweed Spearheads
A bold Icelandic-style yoke printed with a spirograph of interlacing chevrons is striking on anybody. Spearheads knits up lightning fast in two high-contrast colors of Quarry to fend off the winter chill. We paired Gypsum with Lazulite and Hematite; imagine the yoke in Citrine on a background of Obsidian or marry Slate with Sandstone for a mellow contrast. Reversing the dark and light colors should be equally successful. Choose single or double rib for the hem, cuffs and neckband according to your liking. Pattern includes unisex sizing. Brooklyn Tweed Autumn Leaves
This rectangular lace stole is worked in two separate halves. The first half is cast on at the outer edge and worked in towards the center. After the first half is complete, stitches are put on a holder and the second half is worked in the same manner as the first. After both halves have been completed, the live stitches from both sides are grafted together invisibly using Kitchener Stitch. This directional method is used so that lace motifs are vertically mirrored on both halves. Designer: Jared Flood Collection…

Brooklyn Tweed Rook
“During the design process, my aim was to create a timeless garment containing both traditional and modern features. I chose a diamond motif with moss stitch that I saw in a fisherman’s sweater because not only is it a beautifully textured stitch, but I can also use it either as a single line of diamonds (as in the sleeve) or a line of multiple diamonds (as in the body). Instead of having a traditional vertical line of purl stitches on either side, I used stockinette stitch to encircle the motif to keep the whole design clean and simple. The sweater is knit top down.

The on-trend silhouette of the Collomia pullover offers a dramatic canvas for a timeless stranded colorwork yoke. The woolen-spun texture of Shelter yarn softens the bold stripes and ornate snowflake motifs. With seams only at the underarms and knit at a worsted gauge, Collomia is just as alluring to knit as it is to wear. Knit from the bottom up, the front and back of Collomia are cast on separately for the split hem, then joined knit circularly in one piece. The colorful yoke is worked in the round.

Tailored shaping with set-in sleeves, a generous neckline, and just enough ease for layering make this sweater the kind of simple basic that quickly becomes indispensible as a wardrobe anchor.
