A shawl is a many splendored thing: Short, long, triangular, rectangular, or crescent; light and lacy or substantial and cozy. Heriot belongs in the latter category. This generous, crescent-shaped shawl is worked from a garter tab that sits at the neck to the ribbed border. Stone Wool Corriedale is perfect for this kind of shawl. Its plush and round strand loves garter stitch, rib variations, any and all knit-and-purl textures.

Stone Wool alice
This pattern is available for FREE with any purchase of Stone Wool Border Leicester . Alice is a squishy-soft, generously sized crescent shawl, knitted in yarn spun from Border Leicester, a lustrous, soft and silky fiber. Worked mostly in humble garter stitch, it makes a buoyant, inviting shawl for wrapping up in. The border’s lace pattern requires working the pattern on every row, not just right-side rows. But take heart: There aren’t so many stitches in the border panel and the knitting steps are predictable.

Stone Wool pearmain
This crescent shawl combines the simplest of stitches—seed stitch, garter stitch, and moss stitch—for a ruggedly casual wrap that’s delightfully simple to knit. Worked in Cheviot, this generous shawl is thick, lofty, and warm. Stone Wool Cheviot is a chunkyish yarn with a pronounced halo. For all its sturdiness, it has great loft and gentle drape. It’s perfect for a wrap like Pearmain, the spin structure and heathered colors add depth to the stitch textures. Designed by Ann…

Brooklyn Tweed Haro
A weightless crescent shawl is the perfect accessory to wear with summer dresses or to double around your throat for an accent of delicate texture against wool blazers when autumn arrives. Haro begins with a firm cast-on for the full length of the upper edge; short rows shape a crescent of garter stitch that gives way to tranquil forest motifs. This relatively quiet design aims to make the most of Plains’s subtly rustic character and to offer newer lace knitters an accessible challenge; instructions are both written and charted. Fir Cone lace is easy to work and beautifully effective.

Mari Lynn Patrick city
A trip to an iconic Fifth Ave, New York menswear shop brought about an idea for a classic rib beanie worked in luxurious, semi-bulky, yet lightweight Osprey yarn. Adding one (or two) stitches in the wide rib all around can change the style back to a man's hat (where you borrowed it from his shelf in the first place).

Pam Allen clemons
The inception of designer Pam Allen's The Wren Collection, started with the Clemons pants. Holding two strands of DK weight Wren together, the pants have structure and yet are irresistibly soft and bouncy. The pants are worked in one piece in the round from the waist to the base of the crotch, then the stitches are divided for working the legs separately in the round to the lower edges. The pant legs are shown in a slightly cropped, above-the-ankle length, but leg length is adjustable. We personally love the cropped length as it showcases the unique raw-edged hem.
