Need a good project for some comfort knitting? Look no further than Tamworth by Pam Allen. Worked in softer-than-soft Stone Wool Delaine Merino , this lovely pullover is a breeze to make. On a larger-than-usual needle, it comes together quickly and makes for a pleasantly light and airy garment. And we can't get enough of its long and luxurious puff sleeves (eat your heart out, Anne of Green Gables!). Shown here in Scour (white), it would be lovely in any of Delaine Merino’s rich colors.

Pam Allen wadham
Cables and textures are absolutely scrumptious worked in a chunky, round yarn like Puffin — but as striking as these stitches are in a substantial yarn, the simple elegance of stockinette stitch in Puffin just can’t be beat. Pam Allen shows off Puffin’s natural beauty in this minimal top-down pullover, using extra-large needles to create the drape and softness of Wadham’s puffed sleeves. Go to Puffin Collection.

Pam Allen willow
Willow adds the satisfaction of classic gansey knitting to the simple, oversized shape of this pullover. The cuffs and hem are in a broken rib, keeping the sleeves and body from pulling in. An abbreviated version of the gansey motifs is worked into the sleeves at the shoulders. Worked from the bottom up, there's a great mix of meditative knitting and subtle challenge in this soft, ultra-cozy piece. This pattern is also available as part of the Plain & Simple collection.

Pam Allen aspen
We love Aspen's fitted look, with simple (but striking!) colorwork in its round yoke. The joy in colorwork sweaters is always in choosing whether to go with subtle monochrome, or bold contrast. To add to the interest in the yoke, this pullover is a cool hybrid of bottom-up and top-down knitting: The body is knitted from the bottom up, with stitches cast on provisionally for the sleeves, all the way to the neck, and the sleeves are picked up from the waste yarn and knitted down to the cuffs. This pattern is also available as part of the Plain & Simple collection.

Stone Wool alba
Alba is a wear-it-all-the-time pullover, it’s roomy and comfortable. The body is worked from the bottom up, starting with the split hem, which is edged at the sides in tidy garter stitch. At the underarm stitches are cast on for sleeves, and the yoke, a hybrid raglan and saddle shoulder, is knitted in one piece to the neck. For sleeves, stitches around the sleeve openings at the yoke’s bottom edge are picked up and knitted down. Here the sleeves are extra-long, but knitting from underarm to cuff means you can make them any length you’d like.

Stone Wool dunedin
Few stitch patterns provide as much satisfaction as simple knit-and-purl combinations, especially when worked in a plump, round yarn like Stone Wool Corriedale. The contrast between purl bumps and flat Vs stands out nicely. This pullover started out as a kind of sampler, with same-size bands of the different stitch patterns, but it ended up using an elongated check pattern for the entire body and a smaller broken rib pattern in the yoke. One never knows where an idea will lead. If you love knit-and-purl patterns as much as I do, feel free to substitute your favorites for the ones in Dunedin.

Sarah Pope wildcraft
"This wrap marries brioche stitch and simple lace in a design that came together as I was foraging in the local hedgerows for natural dye materials. The scrim of twiglets became a mesh of simple lace with clusters of bundled stitches, and branching lines of brioche flow through the wrap from one end to the other." - designer, Sarah Pope. Quince & Co. dust jacket kit
The history of the dust jacket can be traced back to the mid-19th century as a means to shield books from dust and wear. As the 19th century progressed, publishers began to recognize the potential of the outer book cover as a promotional tool. For two more centuries, the dust jacket would continue to evolve and remains one of the most collectible assets of a book. The Dust Jacket Kit pays homage to its humble beginnings. The jacket body is worked in our sweet Chickadee using the linen stitch. The piece can be customized to fit your most treasured literary masterpiece.
