Josie Chipmunk was a limited-edition friend who visited the Village from May 2017 to August 2018! If you go to the Hazel Village High Meadow, you might find little piles of dirt where Josie Chipmunk dug “nut storage facilities.” She says she is planning ahead, in case her friends want a nutty snack when they are far from home. How considerate! Now she is going to make useful signs that say "NUTS HERE."

Charlotte Bear was a returning friend from Summer of 2025! She originally visited Hazel Village in 2022. Charlotte Bear wonders if you might like to share her snacks. She has bread and jam, also bread and honey. After that, she’ll take a little snooze in some dappled shade by the meadow’s edge. 10% of our launch day sales for Charlotte Bear will be donated to The Bee and Butterfly Habitat Fund . Charlotte Bear is handmade from organic cotton fleece and stuffed with hypoallergenic polyfill. Her face is hand-embroidered with cotton embroidery thread, and her ears are lined in pale pink linen.

Rupert Bison was Hazel Village's Limited-Edition friend for Holiday 2022! When Rupert makes a new friend, he likes to share a little gift he made. So he keeps good gifts packed in sweet hay in his bag. Like hats he knitted when he had some time to spare, or a little box for his friend’s trinkets. Rupert Bison is very excited to have adventured to the fine lands of Hazel Village! While supplies last, Rupert will travel to your home wrapped in his own special commemorative bandana.

Maeve Cat was a limited-edition Hazel Village friend from Fall 2020! Maeve Cat loves to cavort in wildflower meadows, breathing the sweet meadow air and pouncing on bugs. Enough of this sort of thing, she says, and she can sit still for dinner. Maeve is about 14″ tall. She is made of white, orange, and black organic cotton fleece. Her face is hand-stitched with cotton embroidery thread. She is stuffed with polyfill. If she gets dirty she can be hand washed in cool water and air dried.

Zoe Rabbit is converting part of the stream bank into a rock garden. It’s slimy work, she says, but somebody’s got to do it. Possibly. Juniper Wolf was a limited-edition friend who visited the Village from July to September of 2020! Most surprisingly gentle of the forest creatures, Juniper roams the high hills and ridges above Hazel Village, camping in lean-tos and dining on forest fruits. But sometimes the thunderstorms of summer get a little too scary for her. So under the full moon, she has trekked into Hazel Village. The animals are sharing their summer feasts and activities with her, and encouraging her to become more brave about thunder.

Bluebell Pig was a visiting friend from Summer of 2026! Bluebell Pig, when she’s out and about, likes to braid flowers and grasses into little crowns. Sometimes for herself, sometimes for friends when she knows their favorite flower, and sometimes for new friends she doesn’t know yet. Bluebell will arrive at your home swaddled in a complimentary special edition bandana from the time she attended Truffle Fest, the most delicious gathering! Annicke likes to wake up really early and search the meadow for new mushrooms. Unlike a human, she can tell by scent whether they are poisonous or delicious. She picks a bunch and leaves them on Ella Toad's doorstep, then goes about her business. Then, when Ella wakes up around noon she makes a delicious mushroom omelet, which is Annicke's lunch and Ella's breakfast. Jeremy Owl loves to paint portraits of his friends. Usually instead of paper he uses smooth pieces of bark or wood. He can see his work long into the evening because he has superb night vision. He says his favorite color is gray, but if you have a different favorite color he will use it in your portrait. Orion Cat was a limited edition animal from Fall of 2020! In the cool of evening, Orion Cat smells the dewy grass and listens to the forest birds. He thinks about the places he has travelled with his brothers and sisters, the other cats, and wonders where they will go next.

A classic storybook bonnet which looks just right on any woodland friend who might like to wear it. The animals have almost always had some kind of red bonnet in their wardrobe, but this fresh new version fulfills all our bonnet dreams! A dapper chapeau in the traditional style of New Ducklingsburg. Many ducks in that region sport this kind of hat, but we’ve heard that Gaspard wears it with particular aplomb.
