An ultra-bright synthetic! Like all our fluorescents, this fun glowy blue is opaque and super smooth. Fluorescents absorb invisible UV light energy and reemit it at a higher visible wavelength. This enhances the appearance of the pigment, delivering those eye-catching, radiant colors we love! Fluorescents are also fantastic for mixing a bit of brightness into core colors. A cool, deep purple-brown natural earth pigment with high opacity, lightfastness, and a very consistent and smooth texture with a matte finish. At its most opaque, it's just slightly metallic, thanks to its high concentration of hematite. The pigments we use to make these colors are specific to Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountain range. Natural earth pigments have been mined from this region since the mid-1800's, and we think these colors are still unrivaled in intensity and richness.

Our ultimate blended brown! Cocoa is a careful mix of 6 (!!) of our core collection colors—the most out of all our blends, with Lime and Ruby in close second. Compared to Burnt Umber Dark and Reddish—both beautiful, single origin earth pigments that lend texture and transparency—Cocoa is a smooth, opaque alternative with a lovely ultra-matte finish.
