Rebecca painted the original artwork while working on a series of ideas for florals and drew inspiration for this iteration from the pop of color wildflowers bring to a grassy field and the charm of city flowers that manage to bloom through a crack in the concrete.

This pattern was inspired by a picture Rebecca snapped of long grass while visiting Portland, Oregon. Travel heightens awareness of your surroundings and invites discovery. Rebecca remembers these long grasses leaning against one another, layering to create a rich texture. She started making a large painting and watched how the shapes connected and overlapped, and how the color could intertwine to create atmosphere. This pattern adds vertical movement and depth to a space.

This design was informed by little vines and the texture of grass—particularly the way it looks as it curls over, uncut, and is about to go to seed. Rebecca was thinking about a classic pattern structure of crisscrossing motifs, too. This pattern is organic but structured, a nod to traditional. Use this pattern to call to mind lazy days laying in a field of grass.

Use this fabric indoors or out. Throughout the years, Rebecca has explored long curved shapes in various ways and frequently doodled them in the corners of her notebooks. When she began to play with this linear shape for a woven, she explored how it could capture the way a breeze ripples through the spring air. By repeating this simple mark in varying darkness, she creates a pattern with movement. Some marks sink back into the ground of the cloth, where others pop against the background.
