Inspired by the work of Frank Lloyd Wright, Midway features a broad A-line skirt accentuated by triangular chevron panels in varying scales. A generous ribbed cowl neck balances the shape and provides the coziness of two layers of Shelter. The pullover is worked entirely in the round with sinuous raglan shaping and short rows. Midway is designed for a relaxed fit; we’ve styled it with 7” of ease. The need to keep a variety of motifs in pattern during shaping and short rows makes this design most suitable for intermediate to experienced knitters. Designer: Véronik Avery Collection: Winter…

Brooklyn Tweed Fairweather

This playful, feminine pullover in Shelter features an airy, flared skirt that visually narrows the hips. Traditional lace motifs leaven the classic gansey texture of cables and moss stitch. The body is worked in the round to the underarms; the upper front and back are knit flat. Exaggerated drop shoulders create an embellishment at the upper arm, and since the sleeves are worked downward, the braided cable appears to flow down to the cuff instead of climbing. Short-row gussets with fashioned decreases shape the upper shoulders and neckline.

Long lines and waist shaping make this pullover elegant as well as comfortable.

Architectural and completely modern in shape, this cropped pullover is a compelling knit and an eye-catching addition to any wardrobe. The front, back, and sleeves are simple quadrangles worked flat and seamed to achieve a wide, swingy shape with an open neckline and snugly fitted three-quarter-length sleeves. The interplay of twisted ribs, cables, and traveling stitches yields a fabric that wants to move and fold, and clever placement of each element creates flattering lines on the body.

Brooklyn Tweed Rowlock

The ever-so-slightly cropped Rowlock sweater is modishly refreshing. Knit flat in pieces from bottom to top with no body shaping to contend with, Rowlock offers a clean slate upon which shapes can play. Arbor yarn and its supreme stitch definition lends itself beautifully to each knit, purl, and cable twist, enhancing the allover geometric motif that works its way across the body and sleeves. Traditional ribbing at the hem and cuffs riff off of the garter stitch at the neck, keeping this beguiling pullover feeling casual, cool and incredibly wearable.

A plush brioche cowl finishes the distinctive eight-point cabled yoke of this snuggly pullover. Gentle A-line shaping makes Riptide comfortable and cozy. The knitting is seamless, with the body and sleeves worked in the round from the single-ribbed hem and cuffs upward and then united for the circular yoke. Cleverly placed brioche helps to lower the front neck without the use of short rows and smoothly transitions to a cowl knit from the live stitches. Brooklyn Tweed Oshima (Classic)

For dreamers and designers, a pullover that’s equal parts strong and sensitive. This straight-body version of Jared’s popular Oshima (Shaped) pattern (designed as a shaped A-line version in our Fall 2013 collection) uses double-stranded Loft to create a cozy brioche yoke. Decreases for the arm holes and neck opening are set in from the edges to form echoing curves like rake lines in a zen garden. The sweater is knit in the round from hem and cuffs to underarm, then the yoke and sleeve caps are worked flat.

"The thick strands of both Arbor Lodge and Quarry are ideal for oversized cables and this quality was the starting inspiration point for this vest. Invested with a heavy dose of classic fisherman sweater vibes, these cables are plumped up to an almost cartoonish degree, and lend a light-hearted air to an easy-going layering piece." — designer, Lis Smith Quarry Barn Owl sample photographed with Grooves Cap by Jared Flood. “I love chevrons! I cannot get enough. I particularly love how they distort a seemingly straightforward row of knitting into spectacular peaks and valleys. Pair a chevron with the humble stripe and boom! My knitter’s heart beats a little faster. Taking into account that chevrons don’t make a rectangular shape on their own, I have helped them out by filling in the corners. This creates a few extra pieces to knit to make a shape that resembles a sweater, but the end result is a garment that is interesting to knit. Interesting to knit while being all knit!

“This shawl is worked using a modified version of a traditional Shetland construction. In this case stockinette stitch replaces the typical garter stitch used in the center triangle portion of the shawl. As with the traditional method, yarn overs are worked at the beginning of every row creating visual loops, which are then picked up to work the border. Sandness is intended as a bigger cousin companion to my Norby beanie as they share the same textured pattern.

"This shawl developed around a cable that I couldn’t get out of my head, and when its meandering tendrils are turned upside down they bring to mind complex, interlocking root systems.
