CfM Oxalis captures the cheery yellow of the California wildflower also known as Woodsorrel, which Bay Area locals might remember from childhood as Sourgrass. Here in San Francisco, Oxalis seems to pop up from every available patch of soil in mid-February, and we wanted to celebrate this annual harbinger of spring! Size 9" x 12" 11 people from our team worked together to collectively create these watercolor paintings, one color mark at a time. Our team is inspired by curiosity, craft and experimentation and we made this series of works in celebration of the visionary women behind each of these beautiful ingredients. Our ultimate blended brown! Cocoa is a careful mix of 6 (!!) of our core collection colors—the most out of all our blends, with Lime and Ruby in close second. Compared to Burnt Umber Dark and Reddish—both beautiful, single origin earth pigments that lend texture and transparency—Cocoa is a smooth, opaque alternative with a lovely ultra-matte finish.
