Our Market Stripe was inspired by a vintage fabric from a flea market trip, and Rebecca reinterpreted this classic stripe as a heavier and more durable performance fabric. We love the width of the stripe—it has breathing room. We love a stripe. You can’t go wrong adding one to a space, and they can be a great way to tie together a color palette. Rebecca painted the original artwork for this pattern to test some colors she had mixed. She loved how this stripe turned out, and it reminded her how a thin stripe can be so easy to layer with anything. Alder repeats an abstract dripping pattern that reminded Rebecca of the catkins of an alder tree. The single-color print allows our creamy nonwoven fiber paper ground to show through, enhancing its textured appearance. You expect it to feel like a pair of Japanese selvedge jeans when you touch it. PALE GOLDENROD is stronger than butter yellow, but it has a faded quality that makes it softer than our other goldenrods. Use it in place of natural linen to bring sunshine into a space.

PALE GOLDENROD has a little ochre in it that makes it stronger than a butter yellow, but it’s faded and softer than our other goldenrods and as versatile as natural linen. Her great-aunt Libby was an avid needle-pointer and growing up, she had needlepoint seat cushions at her dining table, and little framed pieces hanging on the wall.
