Brooklyn Tweed Marquam
Keep your hands warm during chilly morning walks with the Marquam mittens. The fully faced cuff of this classic ski-style accessory, charted for three sizes, wards off even the stiffest of breezes while adding stability to the ribbed outer fabric. Choosing your colors for this project will be a joy as Arbor’s breadth of jewel tones and soothing neutrals lend themselves brilliantly to the spherical colorwork motif, which can be worked in either two or four colors. Are you a Quince Quarterly subscriber? If so, this pattern was in your Spring 2021 Level 2 box. "Cables, lace, and garter ridges all take on a delicate quality worked up in light and airy Owlet. As a set, these two play with scale; the hat worked on larger needles opens up the lace pattern, while the mitts worked at a finer gauge lend more structure to the cables and lace." — Dianna…

Are you a Quince Quarterly subscriber? If so, this pattern was in your Spring 2021 Level 2 box. "As a designer who’s often most comfortable knitting for the depths of winter, when designing this set I had to consider what spring means to me, and what I look forward to. New growth is undeniably one of the things I’m drawn to the most, but the leafy lace motif used in this hat and cowl is also very geometric and repetitive, making it a soothing project to knit." …

Stone Wool dunedin
Few stitch patterns provide as much satisfaction as simple knit-and-purl combinations, especially when worked in a plump, round yarn like Stone Wool Corriedale. The contrast between purl bumps and flat Vs stands out nicely. This pullover started out as a kind of sampler, with same-size bands of the different stitch patterns, but it ended up using an elongated check pattern for the entire body and a smaller broken rib pattern in the yoke. One never knows where an idea will lead. If you love knit-and-purl patterns as much as I do, feel free to substitute your favorites for the ones in Dunedin.
