Julie Robinson allagash runner
First introduced in our former subscription program, Quince Quarterly, The Allagash Runner is a modern take on a familiar table tradition. The table runner is knit incorporating elongated stitches created by double wrapping the yarn on every other row. After each row of elongated stitches, an I-cord is woven over and under these open stitches as they are worked off the left needle. Designed by Julie Robinson, this runner offers a playful exploration of combining knitting and weaving into one beautiful project.

Are you a Quince Quarterly subscriber? If so, this pattern was in your Fall 2022 Level 1 box. Not a subscriber? "In a favorite knitting book written by Norwegian textile designer Annemor Sundbo, she traces the first records of traditional knitted motifs of Norway. And one of the very first is a small square, called Iceland. I love how clean and modern this little pattern is, and I love it paired with clean one-round stripes and, of course, an oversize pom-pom." …

Mirva Scivola gabbiani socks
Residing in Italy, designer Mirva Scivola of Rustic house Knits draws inspiration from the great, gleaming seagulls that soar above the sea year-round. In winter, when the wind rises, they spread their wide wings and glide effortlessly with the gusts. The design of these socks captures that movement—the quiet rhythm of wings, the grace of the gabbiani in flight. Knit in Starling, the socks are worked from the toe up and feature a Fleegle heel. A Fleegle heel is a clever, seamless heel construction designed by knitter Susan Glinert Stevens (who goes by “Fleegle” online).

Audrey Borrego laureline
Delicate and breezy, Audrey Borrego’s Laureline is named after the Laurus Nobilis, or Laurel plant – inspired by this top’s intricately cabled trim resembling graceful, twisting leaves. Our Sparrow yarn, shown here in colorway Fen, is an ideal choice to show off Laureline’s sophisticated stitchwork. It is knit from the bottom up with front and back hems crafted flat separately and then joined to work in the round. Elegant texturing, a scooped back and a hi-lo hemline turn an otherwise basic staple into a refined statement piece.
