Zoe Rabbit is converting part of the stream bank into a rock garden. It’s slimy work, she says, but somebody’s got to do it. Possibly. She’s building minnow pools into the lower levels, and a terrace higher up. Yesterday she saw two beautiful orange newts. Zoe Rabbit measures 13" tall from her paws to the top of her head. The Hazel Village animals always name their dollies, and this mini tree frog is called Flowers. Flowers is made from smooth organic cotton and hand-embroidered with charming details. Doll Gaspard Duck
Where he’s from, they have a lot of Ceremonies and Festivities. Gaspard says his favorites are Splish Splash and Friendship Day. But a lot of the festivals are boring - like The Enumeration of the Wingfeathers, or Migratory Consideration Weeks. His legs get itchy listening to the other ducks intone their speeches and toasts, and he imagines diving into cool water and practicing his paddling. He knows the swimming in Hazel Village is first-rate, and he intends to take a dip as soon as the pond thaws. The other animals can't wait to see his moves.
Doll Lucy Owl
Lucy Owl has developed a regimen of morning exercises that increase upper body strength. Every morning, she does them in the meadow in front of her house. She wants to set a good example for the other animals, because she thinks they're a little spindly. They are not too interested, even though she tells them the better their upper body strength, the better the foraging. Doll Reginald Fox
Reginald is a creature of habit: Every morning he tends his market garden. He has a shiny blue watering can, and a shiny red bucket for any slugs he finds. When he is done for the day he carries the slug bucket to the forest edge, and lets his slug friends go. After lunch, he rows his boat into the pond and drops anchor in a shady spot, where he naps and thinks about his novel. Reginald Fox measures 13" tall from his paws to the top of his head. In the summertime when flowers bloom in the meadow, Fern traipses there with her gathering basket and her flower press. She says she is trying to find every kind of flower that grows there. Doll William
