Inspired by a truer Mainer, one who once hauled lobsters from the cold Atlantic and now wears the textured beard of a lifelong fisherman, the Johnny pullover is a tribute to the coastal working spirit. Designed by Sandi Rosner, this classic fisherman’s sweater is rich with traditional texture: moss stitch, honeycomb, horseshoe, and ladder cables intertwine like ropes on a well-used dock. Knit in Hawk , our alpaca–merino tweed, the pullover body is worked in the round to the armholes, then divided for front and back and seamed at the shoulders.

Whitney Hayward marsellus
Luscious cables paired with moss stitch create the ideal fisherman's-style pullover. Whitney Hayward pays homage to the classic sweater with lovely little details: honeycomb and braid cable panels on the body's front and back, braided panels from cuff to top of the set-in sleeves, and a cozy, turned-in ribbed collar for warmth and elasticity at the neckline. Worked flat in pieces, Marsellus's silhouette is kept simple, with no shaping in the body. Read more about this design on the blog.

Paul Haesemeyer jerry
Meet Jerry, named after a Maine captain and lobsterman who spends his days hauling traps and reading the tides. Like its namesake, this cabled pullover is all about quiet strength and honest work. Designed by Paul Haesemeyer and worked in Hawk, our alpaca–merino tweed, Jerry balances structure and softness through a mix of traditional stitches: bold center cables cascading down sleeves and chest, crisp 1x1 ribbing, and the rhythmic rise and fall of fan-and-feather. Worked from the bottom up in pieces, neck ribbing is picked up and knit in the round.

Brooklyn Tweed Lorient
Welcome the weekend in a casual top-down pullover worked in fisherman’s rib. Joji always finds a way to put a playful, transformative touch on a classic garment; here a brocade of basketweave cables accents the raglan shoulders. Lorient is worked top down; after a tubular neckband and set of short rows to raise the back of the sweater, circular knitting and a straight torso let you relax into the meditative rhythm of the stitch pattern. Single-rib edge treatments finish Lorient in understated style.

Stone Wool alice
This pattern is available for FREE with any purchase of Stone Wool Border Leicester . Alice is a squishy-soft, generously sized crescent shawl, knitted in yarn spun from Border Leicester, a lustrous, soft and silky fiber. Worked mostly in humble garter stitch, it makes a buoyant, inviting shawl for wrapping up in. The border’s lace pattern requires working the pattern on every row, not just right-side rows. But take heart: There aren’t so many stitches in the border panel and the knitting steps are predictable.

Pam Allen clemons
The inception of designer Pam Allen's The Wren Collection, started with the Clemons pants. Holding two strands of DK weight Wren together, the pants have structure and yet are irresistibly soft and bouncy. The pants are worked in one piece in the round from the waist to the base of the crotch, then the stitches are divided for working the legs separately in the round to the lower edges. The pant legs are shown in a slightly cropped, above-the-ankle length, but leg length is adjustable. We personally love the cropped length as it showcases the unique raw-edged hem.
