These special mini paper quilts are composed of four 2" x 2" squares of original watercolor artwork sent to us by our amazing, generous community. We received work of all different sizes from over 60 people around the world and were completely blown away! From these pieces, we cut out thousands of individual squares in order to piece them back together to create new, original artworks. This abstract mark-making and mixed media workshop will explore intuitive ways of making marks to develop freedom and confidence in the process. We will begin with activities designed to explore materials and experiment with various approaches to creating marks. We will then cut & collage the papers we created in warm-up activities, add additional material, and explore meaning through the creation of an abstract piece rooted in your unique sensibility.
