Gorillas are the largest of the great apes, with adults easily topping 400 pounds. History: The geographic range of all types of Gorillas extends from Lake Victoria to the western coast of central Africa. The range of the Eastern Gorilla is much smaller, and the two types are separated by large swaths of farmed and developed land.
