This special edition pencil is the fourth entry in our Blackwing Eras series - honoring Blackwing's heritage with designs inspired by the Blackwing 602's unique history. The Blackwing Eras (2023 Edition) pencil sports a retro design inspired by the Van Dyke 601. Each box includes 12 special edition pencils with a yellow barrel, dark grey ferrule with a gold band, a red eraser, our firm graphite , and a “PULL OUT CLAMP TO LENGTHEN ERASER” imprint. In 2020, we launched our first Eras pencil celebrating 10 years of the Blackwing revival with a design pulled straight from the 1930s.

Lab 11.25.22 is the sixth installment in our Labs series. With this Lab, we’re experimenting with a soft eraser that is made using the same material as our Handheld Eraser. When the Preservation Hall was founded in the 1960s, its mission was to preserve the living tradition of New Orleans jazz music. They've done so through the nightly ritual of intimate acoustic performances held at the Preservation Hall and at similar venues around the world. In 2011, they took their mission a step further by establishing the Preservation Hall Foundation to bring the New Orleans musical tradition into classrooms and community centers in New Orleans and beyond.
