Rustic never looked so elegant! Carex, knit in our single-ply lace weight Owlet , is the ideal marriage of style and function. Owlet, a blend of American wool and alpaca, is created with a woolen style spin to preserve the loft of the alpaca, giving it a warm and airy quality that’s perfectly suited to Carex’s rich and textured pattern. The shawl beautifully highlights the rustic character of the yarn with a clever construction of short rows, stockinette stitch and an engaging drop-stitch pattern. Effortless to wear and joyful to knit, you’ll be knitting these as gifts all season long.

Pam Allen chestnut
Chestnut is such a joy to knit, with its super-simple allover cable motif worked on larger needles—it whips up in no time. A simple knit with no shoulder shaping, this sweater’s cables coincide only with shaping in the sleeves, which are picked up from the armhole and knitted to the cuffs. A simple ribbed trim finishes this sweet cardi. This pattern is also available as part of the Plain & Simple collection.

Pam Allen willow
Willow adds the satisfaction of classic gansey knitting to the simple, oversized shape of this pullover. The cuffs and hem are in a broken rib, keeping the sleeves and body from pulling in. An abbreviated version of the gansey motifs is worked into the sleeves at the shoulders. Worked from the bottom up, there's a great mix of meditative knitting and subtle challenge in this soft, ultra-cozy piece. This pattern is also available as part of the Plain & Simple collection.

Pam Allen clemons
The inception of designer Pam Allen's The Wren Collection, started with the Clemons pants. Holding two strands of DK weight Wren together, the pants have structure and yet are irresistibly soft and bouncy. The pants are worked in one piece in the round from the waist to the base of the crotch, then the stitches are divided for working the legs separately in the round to the lower edges. The pant legs are shown in a slightly cropped, above-the-ankle length, but leg length is adjustable. We personally love the cropped length as it showcases the unique raw-edged hem.
