This favorite palette highlights artist and CfM instructor Julie Cloutier 's knack for joining beauty with clean functionality. The generous number of mixing wells means plenty of space for creating new color combinations! Available in two colors: Porcelain (white with clear gloss glaze) or Moroccan Sand (a light grey matte finish). Palettes are mold-made and hand stamped on the side with CfM x Cloutier Ceramics. A deep blue-y purple that holds all the rich tones of a lovely ripe plum! This color contains fluorescent pigment, which is not lightfast. Fading can be reduced by coating finished pieces in a UV protective varnish and/or keeping them out of direct sunlight. All of our watercolors are handmade in our shop using the highest quality earth and synthetic pigments, plus natural watercolor binding medium made from gum arabic (sap from acacia trees), honey, glycerine, distilled water, and a dash of clove oil for freshness! Half Pans measure ~3/4" x 1/2" x 3/8" and contain ~2ml of paint.

Their curious, playful natures are fascinating, and their graceful movements are full of joy. Observing them swimming in the San Francisco Bay inspired me to loosen my approach to painting and respond more intuitively to the natural world. In this workshop we’ll explore foundational watercolor techniques such as wet-into-wet, layering, and more, with an emphasis on using minimal, fluid brushstrokes to paint these streamlined creatures.
