Bristol brings her brioche love to a new level by pairing it with our Sparrow. We love the drape that the open gauge and cushy stitches lend to the slinkiness of fingering weight linen. The brioche pattern transitions beautifully into a wide lace border. Go to Shawls 2018…

Bristol Ivy hespeler
Bristol uses a modular approach to pretty Hespeler, working an increasing center panel in garter stitch, binding off and picking up around the bottom two triangle edges to begin the border, and working a border of alternating lace and garter stitch, shaped with short rows. In our lace weight Piper , this piece is deliciously float-y and warm. Go to Shawls 2020…

Bristol Ivy bridie
Loose, swingy Bridie is a cocoon that’s meant to be thrown on and lived in. Its simple construction of two identical pieces worked flat and joined at center back, then closing the cast-on edges to form the sleeves makes it a refreshingly simple knit. Geometric stitch patterns provide a pleasing contrast to the soft hand of the fabric that our linen Kestrel creates.

Stone Wool dunedin
Few stitch patterns provide as much satisfaction as simple knit-and-purl combinations, especially when worked in a plump, round yarn like Stone Wool Corriedale. The contrast between purl bumps and flat Vs stands out nicely. This pullover started out as a kind of sampler, with same-size bands of the different stitch patterns, but it ended up using an elongated check pattern for the entire body and a smaller broken rib pattern in the yoke. One never knows where an idea will lead. If you love knit-and-purl patterns as much as I do, feel free to substitute your favorites for the ones in Dunedin.
