Norah Gaughan gambrel
Combining our Sparrow and Kestrel linens together to create an eye-catching statement in sleeves, Norah’s Gambrel pullover is a really fun piece to knit. Worked flat, center front to center front, its fronts and back are divided to work wide circular openings for the armholes. From there, sleeve stitches are picked up and worked in concentric circles of lace ladders, alternating Sparrow and Kestrel to create the beautiful openwork on its shapely sleeves. A simple crochet trim finishes off the neck and joins the front pieces down the center. Go to Framework…

Brooklyn Tweed Vanora
This featherweight interpretation of the gansey is entirely feminine and perfect for dressing up. The slight A-line is embellished with flattering diagonals formed by small, simple mirrored cables and jaunty tilted blocks of purl stitches. All pieces are worked flat from the bottom up and sewn together; a few stitches at the shallow V-neck form a cabled self-edging that’s grafted at the back neck and stitched in place for a quietly perfect finish.

Stone Wool dunedin
Few stitch patterns provide as much satisfaction as simple knit-and-purl combinations, especially when worked in a plump, round yarn like Stone Wool Corriedale. The contrast between purl bumps and flat Vs stands out nicely. This pullover started out as a kind of sampler, with same-size bands of the different stitch patterns, but it ended up using an elongated check pattern for the entire body and a smaller broken rib pattern in the yoke. One never knows where an idea will lead. If you love knit-and-purl patterns as much as I do, feel free to substitute your favorites for the ones in Dunedin.
